A store employee coming to work discovered three males loading stolen merchandise into a car then leaving. He followed while on the phone with police. When police arrived a foot chase ensued. They were caught and charged. Come to find out these guys are responsible for thefts all over the county.

A man participated in a bike race and came home. He slumped over his wheel and was taken to the hospital where he later died.
A woman failed to show up for work. When coworkers went to her home they found her in bed bed, bruised and bleeding. She appeared to have been raped.
A man with a protective order against him stabs his wife. When officers arrive he barricades himself in the bedroom and began shooting randomly. An officer was briefly trapped in the house but escaped uninjured. SWAT came out and the suspect shot himself in the chest.

Nice to hear that the police caught the thieves, especially since they've been stealing all over the country.

I was in law enforcement for almost two decades, and both my wife and I have practiced law. Convincing a battered woman that a restrain order may not be the best idea, regardless of what her friends have told her, usually is an uphill battle. A man who previously has not been deterred by the criminal laws against various forms of assualt, battery, or terroristic threats is unlikely to be deterred by a restraining order. Unfortunately, people tend to think a court order has some sort of magical power...as if a spell of protection has been cast by (black robed) wizard or sorceress. All too often, being served with the protective order triggers one more violent attack, but this time the man knows it is likely to be his swan song and resolves to take her with him.

My wife handled a case like that, once. The wife insisted on the order, the estranged husband was served, and he responded by kicking in her door, armed with a shotgun. She barricaded herself in the bathroom and fired her .32 through the bathroom door when he put his shoulder to it, but he survived long enough to kill her.

My wife phone the judge the next morning (a hearing had been scheduled), to let him know what happened. The judge, who was the darling of the local (liberal) paper, responded by saying, "Oh, that means I can make it a three day weekend, after all."

You know what the 'Real' crime here is...............??!!
Proving your not a robot....I know I had it right the first...time......SO, really the only way to prove your no robot.....is to let the 'powers' that pick out the number/letter variations..................hearing ya cussing......when on the third try...you become a "C-" student......(Smile)......
